MEET OUR ORAL SURGEON
Dr. Jeremy Rice, D.O. D.M.D.
Dr. Jeremy Rice is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a dual degree in both medicine and dentistry. His extensive education started in our backyard as Dr. Rice is a native of the North Hills where he attended school in the North Allegheny School District. He later went on to earn the following degrees:
- Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University
- Medical degree (D.O.) from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Dental degree (D.M.D.) from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry
In addition, Dr. Rice completed a surgical internship and later, a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Rice volunteers his time and talent in his local community as well as through mission work in Honduras where his family operates the Rice Foundation. This organization coordinates and welcomes medical professionals from all over the United States to their clinic to provide free medical and dental services. Dr. Rice devotes his free time to his wife and four children. His wife, Dr. Casey Moffa, currently practices Oncology/Hematology with the Allegheny Health Network.

Dana Burley, Practice Manager
Dana wears many hats and her 25+ year healthcare related background is as varied as her work. Dana earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s degree in Professional Leadership, with a concentration in Training and Development, from Carlow University. Dana is certified in medical billing and health claims examining and has extensive experience in healthcare administration and revenue cycle management. She previously worked in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic imaging fields. Dana lives in the North Hills with her husband and three children. When Dana isn’t working at Rivers, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
Leigh, Lead Surgical Assistant
Leigh has been working in the oral surgery field for over 30 years. Her experience, coupled with her DAANCE certification and leadership qualities makes her a pivotal part of the River’s team. Leigh’s relaxed nature is a special gift that ensures a peaceful experience for our patients. She is an expert at explaining procedures to patients in a concise and clear manner. Leigh resides in Shaler with her husband. When Leigh isn’t working, she enjoys escaping to her camp, cruising, and anything beach related.
Judy, Surgical Assistant/Clinical Coordinator
Judy has worked in the dental and oral surgery field for over 30 years. She has a lengthy history working side by side with both oral surgeons and oral surgery residents as both an assistant and clinical coordinator for hospital cases. Judy is incredibly knowledgeable and has a gift for interacting with patients in a way that is both informative and comforting. Judy lives in Monroeville with her husband and when she isn’t spending time coordinating patient care at the office she enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
Andrea, Surgical Assistant
Andrea is a Certified Surgical Technologist and holds an associates degree in Health Science. She made the transition to oral surgery after seven years in the operating room when joining Rivers. Although this is her first experience as a surgical assistant in the dental field, Andrea has transitioned quickly and is a key player on our team. Her easy-going and peaceful demeanor always puts even the most nervous patient at ease. Andrea lives in Plum with her husband and youngest daughter. When Andrea isn’t caring for patients at our offices in Glenshaw or Clarion, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and traveling.
Alyson, Surgical Assistant
Aly has nine years of dental experience, including EFDA and DAANCE certifications. She is originally from Punxsutawney (home of the infamous groundhog!) and started her dental career under the direction of Dr. Rice’s father. Aly is an integral part of our team and brings a wealth of dental assisting knowledge to our practice. Alyson lives in Wexford and when she isn’t caring for patients, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and shopping.
Erin, Patient Account Coordinator
Erin has over 20 years of experience in the medical field as a medical receptionist and a back office medical assistant. Shortly after being hired by Rivers, Erin transitioned into the dental and medical insurance arena and now provides our patients with a wealth of information about their coverage and financial obligations. She graduated from Point Park University with a Bachelor’s in Business and she also holds an Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting. Erin resides in the North Hills with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her children in various activities.
Michele, Front Desk
Michele has worked in the oral surgery field for over 13 years. She adds a warmth and caring spirit to our practice and is adored by our patients and referring offices. It is clear that Michele takes every patient’s needs seriously, and she does her very best to make sure that they have a positive experience. Michele lives in McCandless with her husband. When she isn’t juggling her many responsibilities at the office, she enjoys long walks with her dog, crafting, gardening and cooking.
